Building a living, public archive of Philadelphia’s Puerto Rican community.

A 501(c)(3) nonprofit preserving and sharing our history through film and conversation.

Who We Are

Somos Society is a Philadelphia-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit building a living, publicly accessible archive of the city’s Puerto Rican community.

Our work includes documentary films, recorded conversations, and educational storytelling that preserves history while keeping it visible and relevant for the next generation.

We complement the work of established community archives by creating digital records and contemporary narratives that expand public access and keep the record active.
