Somos Society is a collective effort to honor, preserve, and share the voices of Philadelphia’s Puerto Rican community, and the many people and places that have shaped our history.

We believe everyone’s story matters. Whether it’s a memory of a mural, a photograph of a family celebration, or a reflection on how the neighborhood has changed, your experience is part of a larger tapestry that deserves to be seen and remembered.

This space is dedicated to gathering those memories in one shared home—so that future generations can understand where we’ve been and who we are.

How to Share Your Story

1️⃣ Write Your Memory
Use the form below to share your story. It can be a short reflection, a personal experience, or something you witnessed.

2️⃣ Add a Photo (Optional)
You’re welcome to upload a photograph, old or new. Please include any details you’d like us to share (date, location, who’s pictured).

3️⃣ Submit for Review
All stories are reviewed before posting to ensure they align with our mission of celebrating community history.

4️⃣ Look for Your Story Online
Once approved, your story will appear on our website in La Historia Colectiva. We may also share it on our social media (with credit to you).
